My name is Amanda Kekic and I am honored to be serving as the Principal here at Cambridge Academy East – Queen Creek Campus. When you walk in our doors you will immediately feel at home. Our school has a dedicated and involved group of staff members who are committed to ensuring all of our students have a safe, nurturing and fulfilling educational experience here at Cambridge. The staff here is committed to providing your children with a challenging and rigorous curriculum that will facilitate the learning of each individual student’s needs. Our school provides STEM Focused Learning, through targeted electives, specials, and project-based learning. This provides our students with a great balance in instruction and learning in their classrooms.
This year will be my 13th year as a teacher, I have previously taught Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade. I graduated from The University of Arizona with my degree in Elementary Education. I absolutely love teaching and seeing students learn and grow throughout the year.
Hello! I am thrilled to be teaching first grade at Cambridge Academy. I have 9 years experiencein education, but my seven years as a preschool teacher sparked my passion for giving childrena foundational love of learning. I especially love seeing the joy a child feels when they are learning to read.
This year will start my 17th year in education. I have a passion for teaching younger children and I am excited for the opportunity to teach 2nd Grade. I have two children. My daughter, Kaileah, is 19 years old and is going to start school to become an esthetician. My son, Cody, is 17 years old and will be a senior in high school this year. He aspires to build cars when he finishes school. I have two lively boxers and an old, grumpy cat. My family is my world and they bring joy to my life daily. You will soon find out that I LOVE giraffes. They are my favorite animal and I collect any and all things giraffe. You will also learn that I love soccer. I coach for RSL-AZ competitive club soccer. This will be my 10th year coaching. My favorite part of the school day is read aloud. I love reading to kids. It allows me to model fluent reading and also open children’s eyes to the world of reading!
I am proud to be a member of the Cambridge Academy family. I started teaching in 1994 in New York. I taught for 10 years there before moving out to Arizona with my husband and children. I was a stay at home mom for a few years. I then returned to education as a Special Education Paraprofessional.
My name is Amy Kinnard. I was born and raised on Long Island, NY. I attended the University of Arizona and graduated from Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, CA. Becoming a teacher became my goal and I returned to school to earn my teaching certification in Elementary Education at Rio Salado College.
I graduated from ASU in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. I am currently working on completing my Master of Education in Educational Administration. I have had experience teaching in a back-to-basics traditional school and an online school.
This will be my fourth year here at Cambridge. I have had an amazing time working with students her. I am originally from Baltimore, Maryland. I have lived in Arizona for about 18 years. I received my undergraduate and Master’s degrees from Grand Canyon University.
I am excited to be a part of the Cambridge Academy staff. I substituted throughout the 2018-2019 school year and fell in love with everything this school has to offer. I was born in Southern California, moved to Gilbert with my family when I was 11 years old and have lived in the East Valley ever since. I received my Bachelors Degree in Education from Northern Arizona University in 2011. I have 4 years of teaching experience as a second and third grade teacher. I have always had a love of learning and I am excited to be focusing on the subject I love the most, Math! Some of my hobbies include hiking, crafting, interior decorating, trivia, and spending time with family and friends.
Hello, my name is Lashon Placencia, This is my second year of teaching special education here at Cambridge Academy. I am excited to be finishing my Masters in special education in the spring at GCU. The best part of this journey is watching students master concepts that never thought they would. It is a joy to watch the students confidence grow.
2020-2021 will be my 5th year working at Cambridge Academy Queen Creek. When I am not working, you can find me on the softball, baseball and football fields watching my children play. I am looking forward to starting another year here at Cambridge Academy Queen Creek and getting to know a whole new group of families and students.
